Claim: Three Members of Parliament appeared shirtless during a press conference

Source: With All Due Respect-Loud Silence Media

Verdict: Misleading (Manipulated image)

Researched by Gifty Tracy Aminu

A United States-based political commentator, Kevin Taylor, who runs multiple social media accounts under the name With All Due Respect – Loud Silence Media, shared an image showing some members of the Minority shirtless during a press conference.

The image shared on January 12, 2026, shows Member of Parliament (MP) for Ofoase-Ayirebi, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah; Member of Parliament for Weija-Gbawe, Jerry Ahmed Shaib; and Member of Parliament for Old Tafo, Vincent Ekow Assafuah, shirtless, while two other colleague MPs appeared well-dressed.

The image, accompanied by the caption “Yaa Pono Boys. Silly Sankwas!” captures Oppong Nkrumah speaking into identifiable microphones from media organisations such as Adom TV, Channel One TV,  among others. The post had garnered 7,700 likes, 1,000 comments and 211 shares.

The image has since been widely shared on other social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, and X) amid concerns of disrespect by Kevin Taylor towards the three lawmakers.

This fact-check seeks to verify whether the MPs appeared shirtless during a press conference.

Fact-check

AI detection platforms like Hive AI Detector and Google SynthID Detector showed that the image was not AI-generated, which suggested that there was a high possibility of image manipulation.

GhanaFact traced the image to a December 29, 2025, Minority press conference where they addressed matters relating to the alleged $214 million loss recorded by the GoldBod in 2025.

During the briefing, all three members who appeared shirtless in the social media image appeared well-dressed.

GhanaFact found an image from the same press conference and compared it to the image that showed the MPs shirtless.

We found the following instances of manipulation in the shirtless image compared with the real image.

  1. We observed that Kojo Oppong Nkrumah’s head appeared doubled
  2. His shoulder also looks broader with a reflective shadow
  3. Also, the lower part of Oppong Nkrumah’s shirt showing his side pocket is still showing
  4. We observe inconsistent lighting in some tempered areas

Verdict

From the above, the image showing three opposition lawmakers shirtless during a press conference is a manipulated content.
