A viral video widely shared across social media platforms suggested that the Minister for the Interior, Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka, recently responded to comments made by a United States-based political commentator, Kevin Taylor.
In the video Muntaka Mubarak can be heard saying: “It’s just unfortunate that I have to respond to a bigot. Somebody who hates our country but pretends to love it. Someone whose stock is just to malign innocent persons with lies, and tell the lies with so much confidence that some gullible people tend to believe.
“Everything that I’m saying, I swear by the God I worship that everything I’m going to say is the truth. Not because I want to entertain someone like Kevin Taylor but because of the innocent thousand and one gullible people across the globe who are finding it difficult to read between the thin lines to know who is speaking the truth and who is lying. Let me start by saying that. I am not a fan of him. I don’t listen to him, I hardly get time to listen to him, but unfortunately, his last few episodes seem to consistently mention me and people drew my attention,” he added.
On May 24, 2026, a former presidential staffer, Charles Nii Teiko Tagoe, shared the video on Facebook with the caption: “The shoe is on the other foot, and the Minister of Interior, Hon. Muntaka Mubarak, the man whose outfit gave Kevin Taylor security escort from the very day he stepped foot in Ghana to the last day he left, is telling us Kevin Taylor is a bigot and someone who hates Ghana?”
The post has gained 127 comments and 70 reshares at the time of filing this report.

The video has also been shared by other users on X (here, here, here), with captions such as: “The other guy” Hon. Muntaka fires back at Bola bird.” Only the first post has gained over 73 thousand views, over 300 likes, 47 reposts and 28 comments, at the moment of writing this piece.
This report will verify whether the video is linked to the current political discussions involving Kevin Taylor.
Fact-Check
Using Google Reverse Image Search, GhanaFact traced the viral video to 2021. The original video was published by Muntaka Mubarak on his official Facebook page on September 29, 2021, during a previous public exchange with Kevin Taylor.
At the time, Muntaka was responding to allegations and commentary made by Kevin Taylor regarding his alleged dealings with the NPP.

There is no evidence that the Interior Minister has issued a statement in response to any of Kevin Taylor’s current political commentary.
The circulated video is authentic but it is an old video from 2021, being reshared out of context to create the impression that it is a response to ongoing discussions.
Verdict
The claim is misleading.
