Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Forestry Commission, Elikem Kotoko has claimed that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) could not win parliamentary seats in nine out of the sixteen regions of Ghana during the 2024 elections.
He made the claim while speaking on the Monday, August 17, 2026 edition of New Day on TV3. “The executives of the party [NPP] have failed them to the extent that there are 16 regions and they could not win even parliamentary seats in nine out of 16 in the 2024 general election,” he said.

The Majority Caucus comprised two distinct blocs – 185 Members of Parliament (MPs) from the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) and four independent MPs making a total of 189 MPs. The Minority Caucus had 87 MPs from the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
