FactSpace West Africa run the link through virustotal.com, a security website that assesses documents and links for potential threats. The platform flagged the webpage for potential malicious or phishing activity.

We also used the WHOIS platform to seek to identify the persons behind the phishing link and the message circulating on WhatsApp.

The tool indicated that the domain -gbamza.com- was registered at Kalkofnsvegur 2 in Reykjavik, Iceland, and was created on January 10, 2026. It is due to expire on January 10, 2027.

WHOIS also revealed that most information about the registrar was redacted while using the services of withheldforprivacy.com, which conceals registrant information when purchasing and registering domain names on behalf of clients.
