Verdict: False

Researched by Gifty Danso

On March 12, 2026, pro-opposition accounts on X and Facebook circulated a flyer with Adom FM’s branding, it had a quote “30,000 NDC supporters have qualified for medicals,” attributed to Interior Minister, Muntaka Mubarak Mohammed.

The flyer was circulated amid ongoing challenges with security service recruitments.

This fact-check will verify the authenticity of the flyer.

Fact-check

GhanaFact ran checks on Adom FM’s official Facebook page and concluded that the flyer shared by opposition networks was altered from an original flyer posted on the same day (March 12, 2026), after the station’s interview with the minister on security sector recruitments.

The quote on the original flyer read: “Ongoing security service recruitments: Of the total number of qualified applicants so far, it is possible over 30,000 NDC supporters are in there, who knows?”

The Minister did not specifically say that “30,000 NDC supporters have qualified for medicals” as contained on the circulating flyer shared by opposition supporters.

What the minister said about NDC people in recruitment process

“In our own manifesto, refer to security (promises) … we said we would conduct meritorious recruitment into the security services. This was our own manifesto, and as someone elected to spearhead this process, that is the mandate I am discharging, exactly what we promised to Ghanaians and for which we were elected.

“It is not right to say I have abandoned our own party people by seeking to streamline the process, saying that suggests that no member of our party has qualified (in the ongoing process). That is not true.

“Out of this 5,000, I can bet you that our party members who have qualified out of the 105,000 going for medicals today, I want to believe our qualified party members may be far more than 30,000, so whoever accuses us of abandoning our people does not know what they are saying.”

GhanaFact observed that the Interior Ministry and the minister via their verified Facebook handles, disclaimed the flyer as FAKE / FALSE. We reached out to online editor at Adom News over the abuse of their brand name but we did not get any response.

Verdict

The flyer is manipulated and the claim is False!
