GhanaFact has been alerted to a viral video showing four heavily built men allegedly trying to impersonate security officers.

The one-minute thirty-four-seconds long video shows one of the men in an apparel that looks like a military camouflage, while the other three men wore black outfits that could be misconstrued to be police uniforms.

They can also be seen wearing bullet-resistant vests.

The video was sent to GhanaFact via our WhatsApp tipline, with the sender seeking to verify the authenticity of the video.

 

Fact-Check

“This happened on election day in Sowutuom[Accra]. They impersonated police and military,” the Director of Public Affairs at the Ghana Police Service, Supt. Sheila Kessie Abayie-Buckman confirmed to GhanaFact.

According to the police, the four men were arrested by the National Election Security Taskforce and have been in police custody since December 7, helping with investigations.
