In the May 17 news article, ghadmission.com said: “If You meet the Ghana Police recruitment requirements, then get the Ghana Police Recruitment Forms 2020/2021, fill it and submit to the appropriate authority.”

The article entreats applicants to apply via the police e-services portal after securing a GhȻ100 voucher at any GCB Bank Limited.

Fact-check

The Police administration has described the advertisement as “fake” and a “scam”. 

“The police service is not advertising recruitment nor undertaking fresh recruitment processes.” A statement signed by the Director of Public Affairs at the Ghana Police Service, Spt. Sheilla Kessie Abayie-Buckman said.

The most recent enlistment into the service started training in February at various Police training schools in Accra, Koforidua, Ho, Kumasi and Pwalugu, the Police further noted.

The Ghana Police Service insists sufficient measures have been put in place to ensure social distancing is maintained during the training of recruits.

The Police said contrary to speculations that they are in breach of the law that restricts such gatherings due to the COVID-19 outbreak, they are exempted under regulation 4 of the Extended Imposition of Restrictions Instrument, 2020(E.I 64.)
