Claim: Sammy Gyamfi gave Agradaa $10,000 as seen in a viral video of her counting dollar notes.
Source: Social Media
Verdict: Misleading
Researched by Nusrat Essah
Following a recent video of the Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod), Sammy Gyamfi, handing an unspecified amount of dollar notes to Evangelist Patricia Oduro Koranteng, known as Nana Agradaa, from his vehicle, another video has resurfaced showing Agradaa counting some U.S. dollar notes.
The two videos shared on May 11, 2025, are being connected with the narrative that even though the amount of money the GoldBod CEO gave Agradaa is unknown, Agradaa talking about $10,000 in the second video suggested she was confirming how much money Sammy Gyamfi handed to her. (here, here, here)

Fact-Check
GhanaFact through Google Reverse Image Search and advanced search on TikTok traced the source of the dollar counting video. We found that it was originally posted on TikTok in 2023 long before the recent incident involving Sammy Gyamfi.
In the original 2 minutes plus video, captioned “Agradaa flaunts dollars to show Evangelist Suro Nyame,” Agradaa is seen displaying large amounts of dollar notes but does not mention or reference Sammy Gyamfi at any point.
“….Suro Nyame, I am telling you……tell your boys to come and take money, I will give them a chance to fool small…..This is what? US$10,000…,” Agradaa is heard saying.

Agradaa discloses how much she received from Sammy Gyamfi
Barely hours after the video of her snatching dollar notes from Sammy Gyamfi went viral on social media platforms, Agradaa via a TikTok live video, reshared on X, revealed that Sammy Gyamfi gave her about 1,000 dollars.
“I asked him to just give me (money for) fuel, and he went into his car while I was following him, he took out his purse, counted 1,000 dollars and gave it to me.”
Later during her Sunday sermon on May 11, 2025, Agradaa disclosed the exact figure she received as $800.
While it is true that Sammy Gyamfi was seen giving some amount of money to Agradaa during a public encounter, the viral video of Agradaa counting what appears to be US$10,000 is not recent and has no connection with the recent incident with Sammy Gyamfi.
Verdict
Therefore, the claim is misleading.
